Does an employer prefer to have the in-school portion completed prior to hiring you (as in Co-op apprenticeship) or do they prefer you to serve a traditional apprenticeship and attend the in-school portion when notified by MTCU?
Every employer is different. Some would like you to have your first in school portion finished or have a co op program completed. Then on the other hand some prefer to teach you the methods and skill sets they have learned over the years. One thing for sure is it never hurts to be one step ahead of the competitors during an interview.
